Job Title:          Automotive Die Designer

JOB SUMMARY:

Develop and design in a manufacturing and automotive stamping environment.  Candidate will have strong experience in the ability to use design software; perform new, old, changes, and rework.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Experienced in the practical principles of die design (Previous experience as a Machinist, Die Leader and Die Try-Out is a plus)
  • Proven CAD skills with tooling knowledge and completion of tool designs from start to finish
  • Complete proficiency in solid modeling die design, 2D and 3D detailing
  • Provide product development, planning, and project completion experience
  • Proven ability to gather data, diagnose root cause, create thorough resolutions, and use knowledge and experience
  • Proactively anticipate and resolve future problems
  • Ensure part design consistency
  • Identify concepts
  • Work out design studies and design alternative

 MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATIONAL & TRAINING:

  • A minimum of five or more years of related experience and training
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in engineering field preferred
  • Preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu of education
  • Proficient in advanced CAD, MS Office products, proficient in Visi-Series Base Solid Modeling, AutoCad, MasterCam, WorkNC, SMIRT, and has CNC Programming experience

 MINIMUM LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Automotive experience, minimum 5 years within design
  • Be open for a wide variety of tasks
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Bend, stoop, squat, twist, crouch, sit, stand and walk intermittently throughout the work day

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Safety glasses/safety goggles and hearing protection are mandatory while inside the plant
