Hourly Job Description

Job Title:          Welder (Fabricator)

Department:     Warehouse                                                               FLSA Status:      Non Exempt

Reports To:     Plant Superintendent                                              Date Approved:  06/28/18

JOB SUMMARY:

Experienced and certified in MIG, TIG, ARC and other various types of welding and fabricating.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Welding metals (Aluminum, Steel etc)
  • Ensuring high safety measures while working such as donning protective gear for the face and body
  • Strong knowledge of welding equipment, tank change out, safety & PPE requirements
  • Being aware of the different methods of welding and choosing the type of welding best suited for the job at hand
  • Examining the equipment after welding and repairing defects
  • Experienced and has welding background in Military equipment, and Automotive Metal Stamping of products and able to show verification of certification
  • Read blueprints and weld according to the plan
  • Ability to be flexible and support plant operations in welding
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATIONAL & TRAINING:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Welding & Fabricating
  • Must have a High School Diploma/GED
  • Conflict resolution skills

MINIMUM LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and

employees in a team-oriented environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Bend, stoop, squat, twist, crouch, stand and walk intermittently throughout the work day
  • Occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Job duties may involve working in moderate heat during the summer
  • Safety Glasses/Safety Goggles and Hearing Protection are mandatory in the plant
  • Job duties may involve working near heavy machinery with moving parts and moderate noise levels.
